Few days ago I stumbled upon a picture of crocheted collar made by** Ruth Brock**. There was just a picture of collar, small one at that from one of the crochet magazines. And to be perfectly honest at first it seemed to me like tatting, in the end I found out that this is actually crochet!

Never the less the idea of adapting the pattern was so strong that I did just that in the end and this is a result (and yeah there is a mistake in first motif, I learned my lesson newer to talk on the phone when tatting):

This is how it should look 🙂

And this is the pattern:

You need ball and 1 shuttle.

(R – ring, Ch – chain, + – join, rw – revers, p – picot, sp – small picot, lp – long picot)

R1: 10 ds p 10 ds, rw

Ch: 20 ds, sp, 5 ds, sp, 5 ds, sp, 3 ds, rw

R2: 5ds, p, 5ds, p, 5ds, p, 5ds, rw

Ch: 3 ds, rw

R3: 5 ds, p, 5 ds, +p (to a first ring), 5 ds, p, 5ds, rw

Ch: 3 ds, rw

R4: 5 ds, p, 5 ds, p, 5 ds, p, 5 ds, rw

Ch: 3 ds, +p (to nearest small picot), 5 ds, sp, 5 ds, sp, 3 ds, rw

R5: 5 ds, +p (to a second picot of R4), 5 ds, p, 5 ds, p, 5 ds, rw

Ch: 3 ds, rw

R6: 5 ds, p, 5 ds, p, 5 ds, p, 5 ds, rw

Ch: 3 ds, rw

R7: 5 ds, p, 5 ds, p, 5 ds, p, 5 ds, rw

Ch: 3 ds, +p (to nearest small picot), 5 ds +p (to nearest small picot), 5ds, sp, 3 ds, rw

R8: 5 ds, +p (to first picot of R7), 5ds, p, 5 ds, p, 5 ds, rw

Ch: 3 ds, rw

R9: 5 ds, p, 5 ds, lp, 5 ds, p, 5 ds, rw

Ch: 3 ds, rw

R10: 5 ds, p, 5 ds, p, 5 ds, p, 5 ds, rw

Ch: 3 ds, +p (to nearest small picot), 5 ds +p (to nearest small picot), 5 ds +p (to nearest small picot), 20 ds, rw

R11: 10 ds, +p (to second picot of R9), 10 ds, rw

Ch: 20 ds, sp, 5 ds, sp, 5 ds, sp, 3 ds, rw

R12: 5 ds, p, 5 ds, p, 5 ds, p, 5 ds, rw

Ch: 3 ds, rw

R13: 5 ds, p, 5 ds, +p (to second picot of R9), 5 ds, p, 5 ds, rw

Ch: 3 ds, rw

R14: 5 ds, p, 5 ds, p , 5 ds, p, 5ds, rw

Ch: 3 ds, +p (to nearest small picot), 5 ds, sp, 5 ds, sp, 3 ds, rw

From this point pattern goes the same as previously made from R3.

I do hope that I did manage to write pattern correctly, this is my first time I’m writing pattern on my own.

Well I always did find easier to make tatting out of diagram pattern than written one so this might help you (in deciphering my written pattern).

I hope that you enjoy in this pattern.

P. S. : If someone knows the lady which pattern I adjusted I’m asking you to leave me her mail address so I can contact her. Thank you! 🙂

Happy Tatting!!!
